Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Loppr.

How does Loppr know when to prune my plants?
Loppr uses your USDA hardiness zone to look up optimal pruning windows from its built-in plant database. Each plant has zone-specific months when pruning is best — Loppr shows you those months and reminds you when they arrive.
How do I find my USDA hardiness zone?
Tap "Detect my zone" during onboarding and Loppr will use your phone's GPS to find your zone automatically. Or you can pick it manually from the full 1a–12b grid. You can change your zone anytime in Settings.
Why am I not getting pruning reminders?
Make sure Loppr has notification permission: go to your phone's Settings → Apps → Loppr → Notifications → Allow. Also check that you've added plants — reminders are only scheduled after a plant is added to your yard.
My plant isn't in the library — what do I do?
Type the plant name directly into the search field and tap "Add anyway." You can enter any plant name freely. We're always expanding the library — email us the plant name and we'll aim to add it in the next update.
Is my data backed up anywhere?
All Loppr data is stored locally on your device only — there is no cloud backup. If you uninstall the app or switch phones, your plant data will not carry over. We recommend noting your plants before switching devices.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Google Play or the App Store — not by Loppr directly. To cancel: open the Play Store app → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Loppr → Cancel. Your Premium access continues until the end of the billing period.
How do I restore a Premium purchase on a new phone?
Open Loppr and go to the Premium tab. Tap "Restore purchase" and sign in with the same Google or Apple account you used when you originally subscribed. Your Premium access will be restored immediately.
Why does the frost alert need my location?
Frost alerts use your approximate location to fetch a local weather forecast from Open-Meteo (a free, no-account weather service). Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo for the forecast only — they are not stored by Loppr or shared with anyone else.
